Close range combat and private instructional classes in Orange County, California.  Studying Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) for over twenty years, James Poindexter has opened O.C.F.C in Irvine near the surrounding cities of Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area in Orange County, California to pass on the knowledge and experience of the many styles of martial arts he has studied. Competing in full contact competitions and working in the security profession as a bodyguard and training security personnel for many years has given James the ability to apply his training in real situations. In the past twenty years, James has studied many systems of martial arts. Some being the likes of JFK, Shaolin Kempo Karate, Thai Boxing, Jujitsu, Judo, Collegiate Wrestling, Shaui-Jaio, Tai Chi (Taiji), I-Chuan (Yi Chuan), Qigong (Chi Kung), Hsing-I (Xing Yi), Bagua (Ba Gua/Pa Kua), and the Yi Family Shaolin Kung Fu System. James has had the opportunity to train with some of the worlds for most martial arts masters. Their teaching changed the way James viewed power and fighting knowledge. James has focused his training until the present on using the mind and refined power (advanced body mechanics and subtle bioenergetics) over brute force. James focuses his training on the movement of energy by utilizing the mind and its power over our physical reality and limitations. James specializes in competitive fight training, sword combat, knife fighting and unarmed defense against knife and gun attacks for police officers and security personnel. James has developed a very unique and comprehensive teaching method to understand the principles and concepts of combat.
